Smokin' deal, nab it! You will not even notice it behind you for the most part.

That's what i have, but a 5 spd 4x4. It has been a good truck. That will be more than sufficient for what you will be pulling. Mine needs paint too. BTW I dont think they even had extended cabs in 94. 94's are good because they are pre catalytic converters are pre EGR.

jump on it, that is a bargain. and a #10 plate will make it pull like a brand new truck for cheap. bump the timing to 17 and i bet you will be getting 22mpg plus. mike

Smokin Deal, jump on it! They did make an ext cab ... thats exactly what I was looking for in a tow rig, but I couldn't find any in Texas lower than the $7-8k range.

Just watch the tranny...tow in D (third), or it will toast the OD unit.

Oh yeah, I had 201,000 miles on my 99 CTD on tranny #4. It was still a strong running truck and never used more than 0.5 quarts of oil in 5,000 miles (that was towing 8,000# once, usually never used oil).

The diesel will outlast the rest of the drivetrain...my rear diff was starting to get loose at 200,000.

rpm's get pretty high at around 45-55 mph (3.55 gears), and I would think tranny temps get high as well with it out of OD at highway speeds. My thoughts anyway.

my neighbor just sold his 2001 6 months ago, 301k on the original tranny[auto], always towed in od. biggest problem is that a dodge does not pump fluid when it is in park. so anytime you come out of park, hit neutral for a couple of seconds first. and never hit it from a dead stop with a big load, just ease into it. he blew 2 converters up about 8 years ago before he figured that out.

GOAT1 is right though.

1994 was the first year of the "new" body style. 1995 was the first year they offered an extended cab.

1994 was a teriible year for paint. I know a few guys that got a free MOPAR repaint in the late 90's.

Correct

I have a 94 2500 lwb V10. Love the truck, even though its standard cab the Dodge cab is big. My paint is peeling on the roof :)

Oh and thats a smoking deal. I got my gasser for $3500 and everyone thought it was a good deal (needed a tranny swapped in)

Wow, thats a deal.

Also 94+ rams are known for track bars wearing out fast, and in 94 dodge used a smaller track bar.
