Are there any new options out there for the rear disco of a Sammy t-case?!? The TT product looks decent and is priced more than fair. However, Iīd be kind of concerned about its reliability in muddy environments, since itīs an open unit.

So what other options are there for front burn turns with a Samurai t-cased rig?!?

TIA,

billyj, How did you make 4.87 homemade t-case?

By measuring the center distances of the t-case shell and then going thru a shite-load of ratio and tooth profile possibilities in order to get the gear meshes to line up. After that, I measured up the bores and shift ring engagement details, made drawings and sent them to a specialized gear shop for fabrication.

That was around 04 years ago. No problems at all........ :)

so do you sell those over there or did you just make a one off. Seems to be expensive to make a one off.

Thatīs a long story.......

The set thatīs in my truck was a prototype, we made one set just to confirm the design and heat treatment. After 02 months of use, I took apart the t-case to verify the parts and everything was fine, no changes required. There were a lot of interested people and the original plan was to make another dozen sets for sale. I was intending to do this more as a favor than anything else, I wasnīt even planning to make anything for my trouble. However, when it came time to put the money down, almost all backed out, either because they didnīt have the cash or because they thought the reduction too much....... :mad3:

So I just said "fawk it". Iīm not in this to make money anyways, so it wasnīt worth the grief........

I was approached by a couple vendors in the States for possible distribution, but the warranty issue got complicated......
