I just ordered a Predator Carb from Jegs. The carb seems to be a good design and is the perfect size for my SBC. I would like to know if anybody has any expirience with the carb, as to tuning it and maintenance.

Stuck one on a buddies 402 BB in a 67 Patrol. We stuck it on and fired it up.Couldn't believe the throttle response.Quick!!!Worked great for the mud bogs. But on the trails the thing is so touchie you would hit the slightest bumb and away you went.Sucked in the rocks!!Also it didn't like the hill climbs or sideangles. We pulled it,sold it and dropped and Edelbrock on.Works much better.I like the old Quads myself.Just my expirience with these.Blazin:rasta:

Glad to hear that as all I'm going to do is mud bog the truck. Maybe a few shows. I hope I have good luck with it.
Also sounds like the air door was ajusted wrong on the patrol.

The newer design Predators seem to work really well on mud trucks. And they're relatively easy to convert to alcohol, so that makes 'em pretty popular. They're a little short on flow for really big motors though. Up through a solid-cam 454 they do pretty well. Roller-cam stroker big-blocks need more juice & those guys are going with Dominators or Demons (same basic thing).
