: Help!!
Jason M 07-02-2004, 03:23 PM I am trying to get a hardtop from Morgan.
He is in near SF and I am in Vegas.
Forward air wants him to box it up for safe keeping..
Not gonna happen.
Can anyone give me a hand figuring out how to get this frigging thing to Vegas?

Take the keys to the Super Dooty, climb in it, drive to Morgans, check the top for loose animals, load the top, drive back to Vegas. :smokin:

ROCK HUGGER 07-02-2004, 06:40 PM If you bring the SD out you could tow the Cruiser with and make another attempt at the Con :flipoff2:

Prolly more like 10 to 11 hours.
I've done SJ to Vegas many times in 10 hours. SF is about an hour further north.

Have Morgan meet you at Buck Island. You can go up 395 He'll come in from his side, meet in the middle, swap and drive home.

That has already crossed my mind.
The new axle mount goes in tomorrow..
The new electronic ignition goes in tonight.
Front axle is still welded ;)
And Premier has not told me anything about the welder yet

peesalot 07-06-2004, 03:09 PM Hey Mace , rock hugger said , " attempt at the con " , are you gonna let him get away with that ? If you are headin back , pm me and we'll meet ya there , Steak and Lobster on me if you climb that bluff . So you convert to propane so it will run all the time then other stuff starts breakin , nice .
Jason M 07-06-2004, 03:44 PM Well, morgan is going to sell the hardtop to someone else.
He needs it gone faster than I can get it. which is fine :)
I made a bunch of changes pretty fast. I just need to figure out my mistakes ;)
At least I drove myself in and out :D
peesalot 07-06-2004, 04:46 PM and I thought you just drove yourself crazy :) , Tom says Dustin has made that climb at the bluffs twice. I am seriuos , full out surf and turf and all you can drink to anyone who climbs it so I can get some pic's.

What are you hunting?
I have several early ones, even one 63 corrugated, and Chad Smithson has a 76 with all 4 doors he is about to put on the block.

fj40_rico 07-06-2004, 06:22 PM Sent you PM. I'm in Utah and I have one for sale.
- Rico.
yellowbronco 07-07-2004, 10:04 AM Jay,
I could meet you at Mammoth with the top if I could figure out how to get it myself. Do you still have that t-case for Tim?
Tom

It will go down. just need less people at the springs. Don't want to scare anyone with a redline run at it. And we will post the pics. I just want to have my rig in one piece for jason's disabled run in two weeks.

Nut...
:flipoff2:
Rico, Butch, I was picking up the top for a friend with a 76. All he really needs is the fiberglass portion with the rain gutter but Morgan's top was just too cheap to pass up.
No hurry over here. And I do want another run at that face..
I bet if I suck the front end down and actually air the tires down it would be possible for my rig..
Course, I would have to keep it in one piece to make it up the hill :D
Gunmetalcruz 07-07-2004, 01:37 PM oh, this little old hill
4Cruisers 07-10-2004, 10:32 AM Jason
I just took a spare fiberglass hardtop and rain gutter to New Mexico last weekend - needs a little work but the price would have been right - $0. I should have checked with you before my trip.

Gunmetalcruz 07-11-2004, 10:48 AM You on the winch cable their? That looks smaller then I thought it would. Hopefully next year cm05. Can't wait to see it in person. Do you think you could get it sucking the front end down?

I was on the winch cable there. However, everytime I gave it a bit of gas I would start to beat the cable.
yes I think it can be driven. It was one of the things that I wanted to try at CM04
The bitch of it is that if you fail and fall left you are in a NASTY hole... With lots of munched sheetmetal..
I decided to bite the bullet and get the Bluetorch rear 14 bolt upper link mount. I just done have the time or the desire to try to bend 3/8" plate and figure out the bolt pattern of the pinion support on the 14 bolt. Plus, this way there are no welds to cast ;)

...Good choice..Lotsa $$ but looks killer!....When I take the plunge..This will be on my 14 bolt!

Holy roll-cage batman. Kewl.
Jason M 07-11-2004, 08:59 PM Glow called it "the Birdcage"
It is what happens when you drink and bend at the same time.
:D
peesalot 07-12-2004, 12:30 PM gunmetal , although that is an impressive climb ( not maces winch up helldarado) , it is not the unlimited steak and lobster dinner climb. I don't think anyone has climbed the spot I speak of and I think it would be winch mandatory but would love to see an attempt and if I had longer wheel base I would try it. Cool thing is it is in a nice shady spot with lots of flat ground at top and bottom and is pretty much a vertical 1 shot with a hope and wet seat at the top. We'll be up there checkin it later in year .
Bad Coco 07-12-2004, 02:14 PM Can you say road trip!!!!! :flipoff2:
