: NP205 with offset rear output??

I know this has been discussed before, but has anyone actually made a workable NP205 with an offset rear output? The NP200 (M37, Dodge Power Wagon, M715) transfer case has centered and offset rear outputs. I will be getting a TH400 version 205 tomorrow and I have a spare NP200. I am first going to put the rear output housing and its' gear and shaft into the 205 where the flat 8 bolt block-off plate is.
The purpose of this is to make a doubler for my M37 with its' divorced TC and offset rear axle. A centered rear axle would require also a new front axle because of the 5 bolt hubs....
I already have a relatively hard to find Ford divorced NP203 and ORD will make a Ford/TH400 adapter. 3.6:1 gears in the 203 would give me 205:1, even with 2.01s it'll be 115:1, low enough.
If anyone has actually tried or done this please contact me, my address is m37@gci.net . Thanks
Charlie

Jesse at highangle posted some pics a while back with that exact combination...

isn't there a divorced NP200? why not just use one of those with a married 205 and have a doubler for the price of some drivelines. Or just run a crossed up shaft, Jeep did that stock on some wagoneers, and with a fairly long drive shaft that I am imagining on an M37 it should be fine.
