ok might be too late for this year but................ anyone on the east side a truck driver with his own equipment? if so how many rigs could ya fit, and how much $ do you think it would cost to have our rigs shipped out west..... that would save tons of time... we could all fly out, rent a (parts) van :D wheel for a week or so, and fly back.... suggetions?

I just checked the mileage and multiplied at $1.25/mile.
It came out to just under $3,000.:eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

You can always drive it. These are just rough guess. Figure 3000 miles, if you had a crew cab deisel with OD, figure 10 MPG(maybe a little high) you could get 2 jeep sized rigs on a trailer, 4 persons in the truck, and parts in the bed. Cost you about $450 to get there. plus $450 back. Not to bad just you would need lots of vacation time.

Just had another thought, have you looked into rail shipping. I know nothing about it but this might be cheaper, however who knows what is going to happen from PA to CA.

I shipped a car from PA to Texas, in an enclosed(canvas sides) trailer. I think it was roughly $450-600. You have to make sure you can find a trailer that your jeep would fit on. I wouldn't ship my jeep though, I don't like other people messing around with it (too much to screw up)

yeahh, i understand not wanting others to touch.... Craig, if i end up with a 350 dually, maybe we could squeeze three rigs on your trailer? 5 capable drivers in the 4 door truck and we could make it out there pretty quick...

or hell, if we cant get more than 2 rigs to go, .......... 4 people running 8 hour shifts, wed get there in alot less time, than with just 2 drivers.....

Can you rent a rig and flat bed ? I have a class A cdl and could drive. I have a buddy in MD and his girl friend's dad is an owner/driver, I'll ask him next weekend when I go down to visit.

The reason I made sure my trailer had a 35' deck was just for that reason, 3 vehicles. As for a tow rig, I'm planning on getting a newer superduty in a few years, hopefully when I finish school. It'll be a f-350 or bigger:D

just fly into LA and rent a jeep. TDS is easy wheeling. it's more of a party than hard core wheeling.
