Probably good in the mud. But on the sticky rock you will probably break stuff crawling in a straight line.

Too big a differance IMO

Sure. As long as your front tires have a diameter that is smaller by the same proportion.

By my calculations, the front tire diameter would need to be approximately 89% of your rear tire diameter.

This equates (roughly) to having 39s in back and 35s in front... That's actual inflated diameter--which is what you need to look at in this case. Mfg. ratings are too loosey-goosey to trust.

If you try this with tires of the same size front and rear you'll break stuff driving in a straight line just like Strange Rover said... unless you never leave the mud.
