hello all,
I recently nuked my rearend crawling rocks at the alapaha river (north florida) (pics later) between trail and home, chipped gear tooth lodged in carrier bearing busting the cap among other things. no parts store or randy's or anywhere on the web will sell me a bearing cap - not even ford. basically i need one from a trashed rear so that i can take it a machine shop and have them line-hone it.

please anyone that has an extra cap please let me know your price so i can get my junk up and running again. its my wife's daily farm driver. shes using inlaws jeep but hates driving a stick. (poor me)

going to go boneyard digging tommorrow if they will part with one. first 2 places i called would not part out rearend.

if it junked the bearing cap i would bet that it has deformed the housing as well. you may have trouble getting an acceptable pattern on the gear when you set up the new gears. i would replace the housing. just my .02

I have either 2 or 4 depending on if they're still in the 2 8.8's in my shed. They're out of a fullsize Bronco. If you determine that's all you need and you want it, you're welcome to come get them. My rig is in the middle of a tranny swap and I really don't have the time between work and this latest project, to mess with mailing them.
