Check out a few shots from our first Poker Run....

Nice, all the Pokers runs they do over here are usually dirt roads, so I'd hate to see a hard trail over there :)

Well, I'm still trying to figure out how to post multiple files so excuse the mult posts! :(

We had to stay conservative on the Poker run. They had the choice of running the obstacles or just walking up to get the cards. It was our first try, and I believe everyone had a good time.

Russ gave us a first peek at his new Rock buggy. Would you believe this thing used to have Sami running gear????

Check out the web page (http://extreme4wheelin.com) for more photos....

If you build it light enough the stock running gear is pretty durable. What did he do with that front axle, it looks like a centered diff?

You guessed it!

He's got full Mog running gear (Axles -> Transmision) connected to a Rotary motor! Actually the motor is his problem at the moment. It's very light but with no bottom end he's gonna need LOTS more gear! :D

He used to have it on two Sami front axles and very WIDE 3?" tires. As you can guess, Sami front's don't last long with rear steer!

But Hey, look at all that ground clearance!

Russ cracks me up! The Unimog was bone stock last time I saw it and went absolutely everywhere he pointed it.... I can only imagine what he's doing with it now.

The rail buggy contraption has a Mazda rotary engine, with a NP435 behind it. I don't know how he did it, but it looked like the two bolted right together. Last year he had 'zuki axles and t-case, looks like 'mog axles now. That guy never rests, he has a yard full of wild new rides everytime I go to Disney!:smokin:

Okay... Definitely 'Mog axles. For those that don't know, Unimogs have portal axles - so that kind of narrows it down. Notice how tha axletube actually comes in above the center of the wheel.

But what I'm wondering is, where do you find parts for a unimog axle. What do you do if you blow a shaft on the trail?

Also, did he shave the bottom of the diff?

Parts, just go down to your local Mercedes dealer!!! :D

He's ran the hell out of his full Mug on 44's, so they are definatly tough! He got a hold of the drive train for this buggy, I don't know where, but evidently they are out there. (Considering you can buy the whole truck for about 10K! Compare that to the price of a couple Dynatrack 60's).......

The axles are shaved FROM THE FACTORY! They are actually made with flat bottom housings.... Oh, and the best part is watching the axle joint rotate BACKWARDS ! It's just plain COOL... :smokin: :D

Sweet pics. One of these days (provided I ever get my zook rebuilt) I'm gonna hit Disney as hard as I can.

That's correct.... Most of these pics were taken at the Rock Garden. :)

Did not make it out this weekend, too bad :( . It was in the upper 60's Sat and Sun. Really hated to miss out, but I got a lot of little stuff done, and dreamed up a few new projects... :rasta:
