I read in the "predator" thread that Holley is coming out with (or already has come out with?) a Carb that supposedly works on inclines/side hills and figured that such a developement warranted its own thread.

What model? I couldn't find anything on it. Anybody have any information/experience? This sounds too good to be true...

Thanks,
Jake Harsha :D

It's called the Truck Avenger. 670 CFM squarebore, Holley claims 45 degrees up, 30 degree side hill . I don't know why they don't make it in a freaking spreadbore!

Here is a PIC, Check out the hoop style bowl vent. I have been doing it that way for years with a hunk of fuel line!

Maybe you should've patented it before they stole your idea... ;)

I just finished reading the review of this carb in Four Wheeler... I'm thinking about ditching the FI idea and testing this carb out... by all means if I can use something that I don't hafta run 1000000 wires to and set a computer somewhere in the Ducky that I know it'll end up getting wet or frying.. I'm all for it... Now the question is, where to get it?

I called Summit and Jegs looking for a price. They said without a Holley part # I'm sol. I then E-mail Holley asking for a part #. Soooooo I guess we will wait and see.

That kicks ass. I was about THAT far away from parting with an enormous chunka change for a Ramjet 350, but I can get away with a carb'ed 383 stroker crate motor for about 1/2 to 2/3rds of what the Ramjet costs...

I wonder what kinda power these things make though...

Anyone out there with personal knowledge/experience with one of these carburetors?

Thanks,
Jake

If Summit does not any in stock. I doubt anybody has run one yet. They were just shown at SEMA and released to the public on 1-10-2001. It's only been 10 days!

BTW: Summit is Holley's largest customer!

Oh--I had no idea they were so new until your last couple of posts.

This sounds like it could be a pretty good deal--I mean, I'm just surprised nobody came up with one sooner. If they can make carburetors for airplanes that'll freakin' run upside down all day long, there's no reason those same design aspects can't be applied to a automotive carburetor...

This new carb from Holley sounds great! I have an Edelbrock model 1406 that I have modified with all the off-road do-dads and it works pretty well but not as good as the claims Holley is making. I may just have to give it a try:D

Hey Mark, we can add some more it, i want to do a write up on this, but don't feel like taking mine apart again, cost lik 5 bucksl and we can change the spring and block off some pasages, i did this on mine about 1 year ago, and it works about 100% better then just an off-road neddle and seat, not as good as a q-jet but for 30 mins and 5 bucks its totaly worth it

LOL, How many times did they say "No Trouble" in that advertisement ?
I can just see the marketing guys and the development team putting that copy together...rofl
I hope it works, but, I'd like to see someone else test it before I believe Holley again.
