So the little bastard brake bleeder valve on my pass. side caliper on my front 44 is stuck in there. First it stripped when I was doing my brake bleed of course, so then I went to the vice grips, which screwed it up more and it wouldn't budge, so then I tried some heat and the vice grips, no love. Then I tried to grind two flat areas on it so the vice grips had somethin to grab, that pissed it off even more. So then I tried to drill it and use an easy out, The easy out broke off and now I can't drill out the remaining easy out cause it's too hard of metal I guess. So does anyone have any other ideas or should I just buy a new caliper??

if it wasnt for the easy out i'd keep going at it

but with that thing in there i'd rather just get a new caliper, theyre sure cheap enough vs. the time and effort it would take just to get the bleeder screw out

of course, i'd give it a few more tries with the vice grips as well. one of the bleeder screws was damaged on my 8.8 and it took a vice grip with a cheater bar to get the stupid thing out

Same thing has happened to me a couple times - w/ the core they're only like $12 so I just went and got new ones.
Not worth the hastle to me.

easy outs will actually melt before the bleeder will you can just burn that out with a welding tip on an oxy acetylne torch. when I worked in the exhaust shop down town we use to use a torch for everything including broke studs, easy out and the like. just heat the part you want out and blow it out.

just buy a rebuilt caliper. they're like $20 or less. why bother screwing around with it, let the rebuilders do it.

HEAT just use a torch just dont get it so hot that the rubber hose burns of the break fluid boils

a propane torch might even work

most often your time and effort ahead just getting a new caliper, those things seize up worse then anything I've ever seen!
