I will be running a spool in the rear of 9" in my YJ. Will this actually wear my tires super fast? My plan is 36's tsl SX. With a light jeep like my YJ what would expected tire life be (in miles) if I ended up having to drive it quite often(keep in mind Spool)? 10k ? 15k?

I ran a full spool in my 9" in my YJ with 38.5" SX's. My buddy has the same setup but with 36" SX's. Sure it will wear faster than open diff but I couldnt notice any excessive wear what so ever. Run the spool and you will be happy.

There are allot of things this will depend upon........Surface you are driving on.......Tar.......Rocks......Sand....Whatever.... .......Also Allot of in town streets with turns..........Straight highway and so on.........To answer you question it will wear the tires faster yes. How long dpends on where you are driveing and what your habits are

I hade one in my old '75 Ramcharger and ran boggers. They lasted pretty well (for boggers) I've heard that a bigger lug helps you live with a spool on the street. Gives a little...

Gee I cant help but notice this newbies got a very similiar User name as mine. huh :flipoff2: As for the Spool, forget about it, just put one in, it wont wear your tires much faster than a detroit.
