Has anyone done this?
Is it worth even looking into?

Jason, aka jeepin.com put it on but took it off. Go to his site and check it out under the tech section. Just getting stronger tie rods is another option.

I believe the TJ parts are the same as a XJ.

I have it and its around a few months old. I really like it and love the solid tie rod all the way across. It seems to give you more responsive steering and so far so good..............peace

I tried Rusty`s about a year ago. It worked ok but at about 3 months old a bad case of the DW broke the welds at the block on the tie rod at 45mph going into a turn. Almost lost the Manche that day. Still have the pieces laying around, went back to stock parts, at least they only bend, so far anyway.

WTF!? They are welding the block to the rod?! You're kidding right?

I'd stick to DOM and heims for a conversion thank you very much.

NorthernAZxj, yes the ZJ steering bolts right in and is of a larger diameter

In regards to the Currie unit: While it is considerably stronger than stock linkage, you still have the problem of a steep drag link with taller lifts. Such a heavy angle induces bump steer and gives headaches. Do a search on crossover. Lots of guys out there are just drilling the knuckles and throwing a grade 8 bolt with some spacers in there. Thread some DOM or ERW and then just pop some heims in. The only real kick is having to move the trac bar above the axle to keep it parallel to the drag link. Not a big deal with some scrap and a welder. Something to consider.
