I've heard their pretty worthless, radys ring and pinion said that my stock toy axles were stronger. I had a good deal on a d60 ff with 4.10 gears and a powr lock for 150 bucks but backed out after talking to randys

The 23 spline part doesnt bother me. I will be going to a 35 spline, spool set up. I need to know if the housing is weak(tubing size), or is there anything else odd about the axle?

I have been told that some early SF 60's have 1/4" thick tubes. Mine is out of a 67 FORD and it does not. Check the OD of the tubes, if it is 3-3.25, your in good shape. If it is ~2.75, then it is the thin tube one.

the housing should be 9/16" and very strong

if you cut it up then you are a fool. it is worth more unmolested then it is in your rig. it came out of a bad ass mopar CAR it will have three bolt holes on top of the pinion oil galley for a pinion snubber.usally came in 440 six pack cars or hemi cars get the Bill Of Material number off the right hand tube and i will tell you what car it came from then you can sell it on a dodge BBS for some coin to build you a better axle
