Went and looked at that Sammi this weekend. $500, the motor will not run but does turn over. Seller didn't have a battery in it so couldn't check the distributor. Body was in pretty good shape, a rust hole at bottom of drivers side A pillar but thats about it. Bikini top only.

Probably not too bad for $500 but just not sure about that engine...definitely a gamble. Question is....what are some good resources on the web to search for some cheap Sammi's. Stock is fine, half the fun is building them. Close to Texas would be nice.

Any ideas? or thoughts on fair values?

i have never really had luck getting them any cheaper than the one you are talking about. here in texas they are getting harder and harder to find less than 1500. the deer hunters snatch them up when the hit that range. take a battery and a compression gage and spin it over and check the compression on all 4 cylinders if its pretty good, buy the zuk and get to work. if its weak hit him at about 200.00 mike

Mitsuzu, if you decide not to purchase the sammi let me know because I would be interested in getting a sammi for my next trail rig.

I bought mine for $500 with a blown engine, sitting stock. I have found them as low as $100 but those are mainly parts vehicles.
Check your local impound yards. Alot of good deals there.

we've been picking up wrecked zuks from 150 to 500 a piece before the salvage yards can get a hold of them. Parts for my wifes rig and my dad's.

500 doesnt buy much these days, but with the popularity that the zuk is getting price will start climbing as supply's keep decreases. Just look at what the Early Broncos, FJ40's are fetching now.

Cool..then I guess the price is in line then. Btw..in regards to my "will I fit?" thread when I moved the seat all the way back I was amazed at the room!! Thanks for the idea re the compression testing..hadn't really thought of that. Now I just have to sell my IFS truck and I'll go for the Sammi.

You just have to look around. Look on e bay and newspaper the bbs and just keep a sharp eye out while you are driving around town. I bought mine for 750 and that was 12k miles ago. Had to do a few things to it in the past year or 2 but had it a total of 5 years now. Take your time.
