I'm lookin' for a stock coil and igniter setup for my 60. When I bought it three years ago the P.O. had put in Jacobs electronic ignition and I want it out of there. It's grounding out an shorting out and I don't care to mess with it. Anyway, anybody got a good condition coil and igniter setup sittin' around that will work on my '84 FJ60? Ferg your coil is probably fine except that I have never seen an ignitor work intermittently, just work or not work at all. If you search there is a napa/ichlin chrysler part that is $30 new that Butch posted and I have posted a couple of times. I remember this one because I once forked down $280 for a stock one :rolleyes:. Also pretty much any Toy ignitor from a carbed (maybe even FI) will work, I started using mini truck ones and they work great, have the coil built in and are much more water proof. And if your coil started crapping out (intermittently that can definetely happen) a replacement is usually pretty cheap from most parts stores. Good luck!

Also if you use the Toy ignitor/coil combo it is more or less wired for the FJ60 including tach and everything... There are three little wires well covered in Toy 4x4 archives of what does what ;)
