: How long can I get away with....
Radbassist 01-21-2002, 03:04 PM How long will I be able to get away with my D30 + D35 sprung over with a SYE/CV before I break? I've got away (SUA) with going through Fordyce to the third winch hill. (Of course the just said "GET THE STRAP!")
SOA going on/in this winter.
I know about the D44 etc. (Love to but can't find any for a good price and I DON'T want to dump money into the crappy D30/35 axles....)
Just wondering if anybody has a guess......Then I'll let you know how long it DID last:)
Insayn 01-21-2002, 03:39 PM  Only you would know...your the one driving that thing and know your driving style and skill. Here's looking at you fawker! :flipoff2:
Alot of people get away with that combo for awhile with moderately sized tires. I wouldn't count on hardcore wheeling without spares.
Radbassist 01-21-2002, 03:45 PM I forgot to mention I have 33's and tend to be a little timid on the GO pedal but eventually I make it. Thank God I have enough common sense to realize these axles are piles of crap.
Thanks for the input:)
I have seen several times when shit breaks when it shouldn't and shit not break when it should. IMO at least find a 44 for the rear if you are going to do the work of SOA. You said you don't want to spend money on the d30/35 but time is money, do it once if possible.
Insayn 01-21-2002, 03:58 PM I ran a Dana 30 and 35C with lock rights, 33's and SOA before I swapped out. I would do everything the big boys would do, just without bouncing and being very conservative with the go juice. I never dumped the clutch too hard trying to make it up an obstacle. The housings aren't the strongest either so watch the bouncing. It is possible to get away with having a good time and that setup.

Boy how styles change with an axle swap, eh? :flipoff2: :D :D
Insayn 01-21-2002, 04:08 PM Hahaha...you got that right. Now I dump it, gas it, bounce it and break it. Spares are cheap for my setup, but time has me tied down. Always trying to fix it now.
Cutter 01-21-2002, 04:18 PM I've ran 35" BFG Muds for a long time with the 35C...places like Moab, Hot Springs, Clayton...they hold up pretty good with an auto. I'm building a dana 70, so this last trip to moab, on the last day I tried HARD to see if it would break...damn thing still hung in there. I started trimming my tub for the new rear today and cutting some tubes before people came over and I got lazy...I hope to get it done before the end of Feb.
BTW. if you break your 35, i bet it's going to be the drivers side...
MadMan 01-21-2002, 04:37 PM This guy is full of crap. He started this thread just to get flamed. Check out his thread in the Chit-Chat area under waiting. As I sadi there, go back to JU.:flipoff2:
Radbassist 01-21-2002, 04:48 PM Just get your panties out of a bunch bub This was my first post in the Jeep section and the reason why I said what I said was because I've seen a lot of people (newbies) get flamed just for asking a question. I wasn't sure what to expect so I posted "My feelings" in the Misc. section.
I don't like negative feedback. I was just asking a question that I had NO idea was a good one or a stupid one. But I wanted to know an answer to my question which is why I came to you people because you are the ones who know.
By the way.......I don't even know what the JU is anyway. I don't care to know what it is.
SO

LOL. Oh man, you had better get much thicker skin than that. First, read the Mission Statement. Next, I like my panties in a bunch. Lastly, go back to JU. :flipoff2:
