i have the older style wrangler MTs, same tread as the hummer tiers, but radial

wear is nice..and they ride good, not TOO loud, just audible at 35+, seem to do really nice..never owned BFGs though..

if ur going for mud..ive heard MTRs suck in it..and MTRs should give u a lil better rock sticky, from all the reviews..just depends on what u want

BFG's all the way!!!!!

Never tried MTR's and I have no reason to switch. We've run BFG's for many years and have never had any problems. We've bent wheels (never lost air), we've gotten chunks of wood in the bead to the point it deforms the sidewall (never lost any air), we've got chunks missing out of the tread & slits on the sidewalls (never lost any air). Never lost a bead.....never had a flat....etc, etc.

I will always love the BFG M/T KM's........

i sold my bfg's for mtrs and have never even thought about going back i think the mtrs are quieter better in mud, rocks, pavement but i have not been able to test the mtrs out in the sand

i would go with the Maximum Traction/Reinforcers (MT/R). mainly cuz i have them . but i decided on price cuz i got the MT/R's mounted n balanced for $150 a piece. good deal where i am at but i may differ.

You may also want to look at Interco TrXus MT. Cheaper than both. Traction is as good or better and just as strong.

BFG if you do more mud than rocks, MT/R if the opposite or you will be on the road more. I have used both, just my .02

I have a set of 35" bfg muds and they are awesome in the mud but are not so good in the rocks.

I have never used mt/r's so I cant help you out there.

MTR's on my second set. I had BFG muds on my DD when I bought it promtly sold them. I think they ride horribly on the road. For the tire, an MTR is exceptionally quiet on the road and great off road characteristics.

MT/Rs - Quiet on the street, Kick Ass Off Road. Had mine for 6000 miles on my 4runner and they're barely worn.

I had BFG Mts, then went to MT/Rs. I'll be going back to the BFGs again. They performed (on my rig) much better in the snow than the MT/Rs do. The MT/Rs are quieter on the road.. but it seemed like the BFGs handled better. :cool2:
