I have a set of knuckles from a 8 lug 44 IFS from a mid 80's F250, my question is can I put these knuckles on a Hp 44 thats in my 77 f150 to go 8 lug? I am installing a D60ff into the rear and need to get the front 8 lug to match. Has anyone done this or am I just going to have to tear it down to try it? I did a search but couldnt find anything on this type of conversion.

No, they're not swappable.

There was a thread here along time ago about this very topic. I dont know by how much, but the distance between the balljoints is different between the two. That's why it will not work.

Thank ya much, thats what I needed to know. Yeah when I was looking at them side by side the IFS knucks looked longer between the ball joints. ya saved me an unneeded tear down.

you can use hubs/spindles and rotors. not sure on caliper.

The way I under stood it and the way it looks is that the rotor for the 8 lug setup is bigger meaning that there will be clearance issues and my caliper wont work with it either. Am I wrong about this?
Cause if I am that would be cool with me,I could still at least use the rotors and whatnot to go 8 lug. If it wont work I will just have to look for dana 44 sa 8 lug stuff no biggie as no money lost yet.

Anybody know this to be true or not?
