I have a 94 engine with 86 mustang injection in my EB, so yes it is speed density.

Here's the problem. I was trying to get it off my trailer when it stalled. Found out the positive cable was loose on the battery. No prob, fixed that. Now the freaking thing won't even start.

Tested for fuel pressure ..... 35 psi
Tested for compression....... 135 is the lowest cylinder.
Tested for spark....... Good on all 8
Tested the EEC relays ....... Both good
Tested injector pulse......... Also good

WTF am I missing??? It'll crank like there's no tommorrow but will not fire, or even kick. I even went so far as to remove all the grounds and clean them (I've had probs with them b4) I'm pretty sure it didn't jump the timing as it sparks when the compression comes up (with the plug removed).

Any ideas?????

thanks

When your cranking it, have a friend put a hand on the injectors, they should pluse

bet your injectors are bad....

this just happened to mine, had old gas in there, ran the truck a few times, then no start... checked everything, was getting a singnal to the injectors, and fuel to the rail, but the injector wouldnt open. put a new set of injectors in and she fired right up

LOL, all 8 injectors "are bad"?! How do you sleep at night?

You would need a bad filter sending crap to them or a big electrical spike to ruin all 8 injectors at once. Look for other problems.

I'll bet the TFI/stater isn't telling the computer the engine is spining. I posted on the other bronco site. Just had to laugh at the injector idea

ryan............

obviously you need to check idm and spout sig.....but wilbers not bullshittin...the fuel turned to shit and glued the pintles shut...i went through the system 20 times cause i refused to believe all the injectors went to hell. everything was peachy...puter was happy all the wiring good...signals were there........i was really on edge cause they all pulsed and buzzed when you had ahold of em and cycled fine with the noid light, which dont do shit when the pintles dont move...they even all specked out good on res...

but alas...it was the only thing..so we pulled em and no nothing...pushed a few in to free em...but it was too late...just needed a fork shoved in em cause they were done.

i have only seen that happen a handfull of time...and when it was do to varnished fuel it would still kick a bit...but this thing was dead. it was exactly like this guy posted.

that said...yes...i would also start with making sure the computer is seeing a crank signal. but he reports good spark and good fuel pressure and the injectors are cycling...and since they are cycling its probably getting the crank signal....so...good fp/spk/inj cycle.....

i can see where wilber thinks the pintles went on strike.

Ok, I went out and bought 8 new plugs...... No difference.

The reason for buying the new plugs was the old ones were wet and I figured they may be screwed.

I bypassed the EEC relay to see if maybe there was too much voltage drop across it and still nothing.

Got no tester here to see what codes are there but I've had the battery off a coupla times already while checking restances etc so they'd be gone anyways.

I know it's timed as it would not jump 180 degrees by stalling. Maybe one tooth or two, but then I should get someting of a backfire or something shouldn't I??? It doesn't even kick or anything.

Gonna try shooting some fuel into the intake directly and see if the bitch even kicks, if that doesn't work I'm gonna try the compresion test again to see if I was wrpong or drunk the first time. Too tired tonight to try....the real kicker (and I can't believe I'm telling you guys this) is that I work as a tech for Ford!! man i feel stupid..............

well if the plugs are wet then i would have to say your sparkless....unless you put the wrong dizzy gear on and it aint turnin... or is chewed bad and is way out of whack...giving you spark but way off. hit it with a shot of either..

When I just cranked my 5.0 for the first time in forever I had the same symptons. It would turn over but it would even think of cranking. I checked the wiring for a while. Finally figured everything was there except no fuel in cylinders. All 8 injectors were clogged. Got new ones and runs fine.

It's alive!!!!

Got it fired up and purring like a kitten, Would you believe bad gas was the culprit.

I either have more enemies than I knew about or the last place I bought gas was shit. It was almost brown and when I poured it out on the ground it wouldn't even stay lit with a torch.

Knew it was gonna be something stupid but didn't think that stupid , the gas was only in it for 2 months. Guess I'll know better than to assume something next time.

hey...a couple of more weeks and you would have had bad injectors too.....
