I heard that TT is coming out with a kit to make the t/c go to 2wd low for the front but won't go to 2wd rear. is there any truth to this?

I don't see it....... Not in a Samurai case.
The front output comes off the rear output. There is no way to disconnect the rear!
You could turn the case around, then turn it over so the outputs are on the correct side. Now the shifter is coming out the side, and you still have to modify the case for an input..... Na, just don't see it... :emb:

I did have an idea to do a twin stick for the Samurai. Since I'm running an ARB in front it's just not that important. Besides, coming up with a T-case boot was my big stumbling block. I spend too much time vertical (and beyond) and all my 90wt runs out (I have to refill fill my xmission several times a year for that reason). I'm really surprised no one has done it though….. :rasta:

YES, IT IS TRUE !!!!!! We have it - it is done - and it is going in our new Dually Rock Buggy! I thought it was impossible myself for awhile but I figured out a way to do it and it works pretty slick. Kits should be available after April. Don't ask me how much and don't ask for pictures until we release it :D

I respectfully stand corrected:D

Bravo for your innovativeness Brent, BUT...... I have to question Why you would want to do this? That front output gear is SO PAINFULLY SMALL!!! :nuke:

Front 2 wheel low will be useful for momentary use in conjunction with cutting brakes and an ARB (we are assembling a kit for this, also) - this allows you to drag over the front end with minimal forward motion when you are in a tight spot and want to change your line a little - without having to back up. It will also completely disengage the transfer case from the rear output driveshaft which will be very convenient for people who want to flat tow.

Sweet!
You guys have been busy! :D

Does it increase the length of the case? With my high penion 44, my drive shaft is now ~2' long......

BRAVO... :bounce:

Their is a way to do it by installing an electic drive clutch between the rear transfer case flange and the drive line flange, or you could put some type of an air locker between the flanges?

Just:confused:

No, it doesn't increase the length of the case. Also, the engage and disengage is mechanical.

the only way that i think that this is possible is to turn the output shaft around. The gears are just a little off center and different thickness at the hub, but with a spacer or a little machine work and a new shift rod it can be done. I got a several extra t-cases I'm going to play with to se if it will work.

sounds way cool having the same length of transfer case Brent.

You guys will have to check out our cool new shift pattern too. It is a reverse 'S' pattern.

Doesn't require removing any balls. This means you get a solid locking shift in each position. No slop at all.

Uses a special machined shift fork. Very cool!

We should be releasing the setup around late-March/early April.

rockyroad, are you also offering the 2wd front system?

It'll have the 2WD low, but won't have the capability for front output only.

Haven't really had anyone ask for it before.
