on my distrubutor cap theres a breather valve/cap. and i know one of my problems is getting water in through there, so last weekend i just tryed electrical taping it (did a crappy job but it worked). I was wondering if anyone knows if its bad for the distributor if i just seal this permanantly...? and im prolly gunna smack some dielectric grease as a gasket around where the cap meets the distributor.

Hook a hose on it and route it up high...It is there to let moist air out of the dist....it will rust in there if it's not vented somehow

yes it needs a vent (thats why on is on there)
drill a new hole and more it upwords
