I know I'm new here.
I found a NP435 from a 2wd F-100. 32 splines I also have a NP205 w/ 31 splines. They came from different trucks. Can I use these? Where can I get the adapter?
Thanks,

Not really. You're going to be better off to find a 4wd NP435 -- it has a different bolt pattern on the back of the transmission case, a different tailhousing (to bolt up to the NP205), and a different output shaft.
All the other parts swap, tho.... so you might want to hang onto the 2wd one for spares.

So, I need the trapizod bolt pattern opposed to the square pattern?
Then I will be able to find the adapter with the trapizod pattern to bolt to the 205. Does that sound right?
Now, the 435 that I have now has 32 splines, am I looking for a 28 spline 435 from a 4wd?
And the adapter, it need to goto 31spline male to mate with 205.
Let me know if I'm on track.
Thanks

ya, you need the trapizoid adapter, but as stated, best thing to do is find a 4wd tranny. THe 2wd iss good for spares, or to use with a Dana 20 from an early Bronco.

Cool, I'll go back and get the 4wd one.

Yeah, you won't need an adapter for the output shaft, either. I don't remember what the spline count is, but 31 sounds about right. It'll slide right into the 205.
And it should have the right tailhousing/adapter on it as well... unless somebody unbolted it and threw it aside. It'll have the round six-bolt pattern on it with about 1-3/4" of shaft stickout at the tcase end, and the trapezoid pattern at the transmission end.
