i am goin to look at a 79 k5 blazer i got a few ?'s.

do the odometors stop like in older broncos, like it will say 55,000 but it realy has 155,000. cause it got 83,000 wich seems low for a truck of that year.

the guy sais it got a 454, did that come stock or did u swap it in.

what else should i look at.

what axles are on it,

what is the max size tires i can run on the stock axles.
what is the max tire size i can run if i lock it front and rear.

Not realy rocks, mostly mud and like sand.

thanks,

i am new to this whole chevy thing, the only trucks i have owned were ford,

thanks

Might have 83k on that swapped in big block. Should have a 10/12 bolt rear with a 10bolt/d44 front.. Run 33s locked in sand or mud & be nice.

"do the odometors stop like in older broncos,"....Got ford on the brain?
A couple of things about that year K5, watch out when you shut the hood, it will break like a toothpick right in front of the hinges, as for all of your specs just go to coloradoK5.com and click on specifications, then your year model. Most of the stuff you would want to know can be found there.
And PS... welcome to the chevy family:)

if still stock, 10 bolt front, 12 bolt rear. big block swapped in. if they swapped the engine, maybe tranny and transfer too. Could have a 350/203 if still stock. front and rear end, transfer case all undesirable, but will run if in the mud and on a max of 35" tires. make sure the frame looks solid throughout and don't pay too much. Tell us when you get it home, we will help you chop it up for max fun.

The odometer will only show 5 digits and beware of framing cracking behind the steering box (very common).

If your lookin at K5s, get to know coloradok5.com, it will be your new best friend. It has everything you will need to know and is the biggest K5 site out there. When I had my 76, I learned everything from there.

The 454 is not stock, if the axles are stock, it has a 44 front and a 12 bolt rear. Nothing bigger than 35s and you won't need to worry about breaking anything. :flipoff2:
