hey a friend from work has an old-semi beatup 2wd f-150, a 77

its got a 400 and im guessing c6? 9 inch rear and 44 front? dont know anything about older 2wd trucks

so..first of all any good places/brands for older body lifts, i know stuff about bronco 80+ bronco lifting..but nothing about 2wd, let alone this old, so bear with me

he probably wants to go bodylift for just sheer cost of it, but if an older CHEAP suspension lift can be had for a couple hundred, maybe interested in that too

he wants to basically get his about as high as mine..95 stock suspension/body bronco on 33s

it looks like he can fit 32s on his MAYBE, stock, without any trimming, not for sure

im thinking 2-3 inch body lift with 32s-33s

is the body lift like this http://store.summitracing.com/partd...&N=120%20301216

what he needs? performance accessories..should have all the bracket flips, transmission connection stuff? someone else i heard once said he had a tranny extension link or something w/ the PA kit?

guessing this would install just like any other body lift? just put between body crossframes and main frame? his doesnt look like it has bushings inbetween the 2..is this the way they were then?

sry for being a newb on this
i dont want to hear about this all please:get a 4wd, new truck, w/e-guy has a really low budget..single guy with child support, etc, doesnt have alot of spare, just wants to get a lil bigger with his old truck

thanks :grinpimp:

hes got a limited budget so expensive isnt in his vocab lol, signle guy alone in an apartment, with child support..doesnt have alot left over after everything

i didnt think it had the 44...i dont know shit about older trucks thoug, i'll check on the internet to see if i can find anything..i dunno?

i think were just gonna go the 2-3 inch body lift from summit, performance accesories, good kits and should have everything

then go 32-33 inch tires..should give him a nice stance

just not for sure on body lifts for these years..if there any diff than something id be used to hearing about installing, if so..it seems really simple, just time consuming

PA body lifts come with all of the extensions and bracket you will need. on that truck ide go with 2" lift - you will not have to extended steering that way and there are less mods all around. you might not even have mess with fan shrowd if it has one.

that truck that body lift should take 4-5 hours as long as you PB blast all the body bolts before hand.

2" lift 10" rim with 33"s will fit and look great.

if you know it was a 2wd why would you even think it had a d44 front?

alright i'll tell him that, 2 inch seemed lik ea middle of teh road one to go..no 10 inch rim, hes gonna stay stock now, Body lift, then tires whenever he can afford them..jsut piecing it together

i have no idea if tehy made any 44s that were 2wd..i dunno? lol i know NOTHING at all about 2wd trucks, just 4wd trucks and some car knowledge, sry

Well if you know about 4x4 trucks you know that they require a front axle to get 4 wheel drive.

Why would a 2wd have a front axle?

lol i knew all the older trucks since early 70s, 4wds, had the dana 44, solid or TTB, and didnt know if they had a version of these..like theres so many versions for jeeps..early broncos..broncos, etc, didnt know what they had in them..thats why i asked, i thought they had A arm front suspension or something along thos elines..but i had no idea..so i asked, excuse me

The only thing w/ body lifts on these 2wd trucks is the steering box @ the firewall.....possible but time consuming.

Look into that before he starts.....

Good luck!
