Is there a writeup available anywhere for installing an Aussie Locker in an 8" toy diff?

I've searched and came up with nothing, and the instructions that come with the thing pretty much look like Greek to me. I need pictures to understand what the hell they're talking about.

Installing the Aussie was easy as pie. If you can find a set of instructions for lok-right it does make things a little better. Search google... might even be here some where...?

Do you have to remove the ring gear to install an Aussie?

depends on the diff....

I know on a 4-spider 6cyl Toy minitruck rear diff, you do
I know on a 2-spider 4cyl Toy minitruck or Cruiser diff, you don't.

varies by application....

I justed e-mailed you a PDF of the lock right install instructions.
Just make sure you mark the spanners and get a feel for backlash.
If your spanner is adjusted one complete turn off, you will know the backlash is too loose.

Yes. The center pin will hit the ring gear so you cant take it out. I was afraid of doing that but its cake. When you go to put the ring gear back on the FSM says to heat it up in an oil bath. Instead i just put the carrier in the freezer over night and put the ring in the oven for a little while (low heat). Makes it easier to put the ring back on the carrier. Remember to mark everything so you can put it back the same way.

Luke Miller still has the best writeup on the web I think:

And woody, you got them switched...the V6 4-pinion does NOT require the ring gear to be touched, the 4-banger 2-pinion requires it to be removed.

Yes, you are slow. I can do an install in 30 minutes if the diff is out, and I have only installed a couple ;)
