: selling vs parting

I have never parted a vehicle. I'm going to try to sell my 64 as a project for $1500 but I'm only going to wait a week before I part it out.

What's the best plan? Pull shit off as people want it or dissassemble it and have it ready to go. Other ideas?

Hey Josh

I truely don't think that the 64 will get you anything if you part it out. The motor, tranny, and axles are all pretty much worthless. The title is worth something though...BTW, why you selling it?

If you are still insisting in parting it, I'd like to talk to you about the front fenders and grill.

It's not fully assembled at the moment.
260ci Ford V8
Ford T-18 (with granny)
Dana 18
Painless wiring
New hard line brakes
SII D44s 4.56 welded rear and EZ front
Power steering

I think I can part it out and do just fine. :D
If I part it, I'll email ya!

Okay, I put it in the for sale section so go and buy it! Or else I'll break it into peices and part it out... Oh wait, it is in peices!

So Dark Meat was going to be sold. We put 2" lift springs, nice 31x10.50s (bfg), Optima Red-top, Rancho 9000s, 345 w/ headers and 4bbl, new seats, etc, etc. We couldn't get $1500.

parting it out we'll get over $2000.

No questions here.

How much labor to part it?

And there's just something about taking a running rig and scrapping it, just because you can make a few more $$$ off it.. just doesn't seem right. ;)
