Sure, any pics of a swap at this time will do. I mainly want to see the way the springs are mounted and also the drivelines.

Hey, do you take requests?

How about a pic of the passenger side, front d44, from the rear?

Did you out board the springs?

Thanks for the pics. Did you outboard the springs? If so, do you have shots of that too.

Springs are YJ, not out boarded, will get that angle this afternoon after work...

Any significant difference between the driveshaft flange-to-axle shaft distance? Does it move the axle forward or back any? I plan to keep my current driveshaft if if I can (Tom Woods) and maybe just change out yokes. I may be going to this later and I want to start scrounging the parts...

Might wanna lose those stacked lift blocks, tho. Seen more than one left on the trail....

The bottom "block" is part of the spring perch, which is 2"x2"x1/4. I put that plate on top to eliminate wrap. The top one is 1" and is drilled and bolted into the spring pack, it was an attempt to gain some clearance before a run...

Thanks!

So your running d44's from a waggie, and you didn't have to outboard your springs.

What year waggie did you get them from?

Now the gears are turning!

Thanks again!

Just repeating what I've heard in the Toy section...

AFAIK Scout D44s have about zero caster when you have the pinion pointed anywhere NEAR where it needs to be on a lifted, S.O.A. vehicle.

So, you may have to cut & turn the knuckles to avoid the exciting-yet-terrifying death wobble, and to keep it from wandering all over the place.

These are from a 76 Jeep Cherokee. The front is wider than the rear stock, I narrowed it to match the rear, and is also eliminates having to outboard the springs...I only shortened the long side ~2.5", sent the shaft to moser +$50, and put it back together again. I will be making another front from a chevy, because i need a wider front...To match the rear 64" 60...That is centered to line up with the dana 300 output...That I'm using to avoid blowing up my GRSII again... You get the idea, these things are never done...

PS Yota san is correct, the front 44 from a Scout has terrible caster, you would have to turn the knuckles, which is a lot of work...

Hmm, unless there is some kind of optical trick happening I think that whole axle got some loving. Is it just me or is the long side tube bent too?

 ... Only the tie rod. I think cause they are visually close together, your eyes say that the tube is bent too... But I checked with a straight edge just to be sure...
