How many miles?
How old are your o2 sensors?
Have you cleaned your T.B.?
Any Codes under the seat?
What is your fuel pressure?
First off:
I would replace the coolant temp sender since it sets up the whole mixture mapping for the EFI and it is dirt cheap.

hey man well has about 93 thousand on it
o2 sensors no clue how old they are but when it runs its perfect
t.b is clean
no codes under seat in fact i had to put in a new chip the other one was giving me problems missing and stuff but the starting problem was always there
havent checked fuel pressure yet but when its running its perfect
and the coolant sensor works fine i unplugged it to see if it would help and nope but i know it works i hooked up a noid lite to it and i have power

Unpluging it is not going to do it. test it or replace it
Slow down you posts are hard as hell to read.
sorry man, well it was the cold start valve that i checked . i didnt check the coolant sensor i will try and give that a look at but it does it even when the coolant is hot or i should say warm like i said its like the pressure is leaking out but i dont smell any leaks and im not sold on it being the pump cause it would run crappy if it was the pump i went to the dealership and they said they have no clue yadda yadda yadda could be real expensive to fix man i am sick working on it
i guess ill look at the coolant sensor and then what?
i appreciate it dude helping me out....

Problem: Bad Coolant temp sensor
The ECU thinks that the engine is cold and richens up the mixture even when it up to full temp.
Effect: The engine is always running rich and the plugs are fouled due to flooding.
Fix :Coolant temp sender 14.00
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Problem: Worn Injectors
The fuel system dumps all the fuel from the fuel rail in to the engine when parked. Hard starts hot and cold due to flooding and fouled plugs.
Fix :Replace Injectors Don't ask there in$ane.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Problem: Bad Fuel pressure regulator
Fuel system pressure bleeds down when parked.
It takes lots of cranking to get engine to catch due to old fuel pump and or clogged fuel filter.
Fix Pressure reg 70.00, filter 8.00, fuel pump (non LR) 75.00

BTW There is no cold start valve on a NAS Rover V8. I'm trying to think just what you were messing with.
its was the sensor in the front of the fuel rack i believe its like a cold start valve it could even be the coolant sensor it has the blue plastic in it...

tj7,
Dude, break up your posts into sentences like when you are writing a letter. I know you must have had english class somewhere along the way. It's a pain in the ass to read what you are writing.
Or, you can do what some do and just double space after the sentences.
Like this:
Ok?
Oh yeah, and space between paragraphs, thoughts, etc, so that we can follow you.
Ok, for recommendations:
Check the coolant temp sensor and also the fuel temp sensor. I'm sure you can replace those cheap. I'd go ahead and do a fuel filter anyway just in case it's clogged.
Also, you might take a look at your spark plugs. If they come out dripping with fuel, that's bad! Or, if they're white, that usually means you have water/coolant in the cylinders. Also a bad sign.
Good luck!

okay here we go,
1- the filter is new did a full service on it
2-the plugs are new when i take them out they are not fouled at all maybe a little gas on them , but no coolant
3-i had replaced a prom (chip) in the computer because it was missing but the starting problem was still there
4-i dont see how it can be a fuel pump as the truck runs fine when its running -no hesitation or stalling
5-possible injectors i know they are real expensive
i was just wondering if anyone had this problem on there at all i appreciate everything guys thatnks
sorry about the grammar and punctuation but i am a frikin mechanic not a scholar...

I had a bum pressure regulator that was running high on fuel pressure. The truck ran great, but the cat smell was nasty and the mileage was the shits.

no problem dude, you're much easier to understand now. thanks!
I can see the pressure regulator causing extra high fuel pressure being a problem. Or another possibility is maybe the fittings are leaking at the regulator. Or maybe an injector o-ring is leaking.
-John
i understand about the seals on the injectors but it may be real small cause i smell no leaks or see any in that area maybe it can be a bum regulator i had tons of problems before with volks and all kinds og imports but this rover boy o boy what a nightmare....
