Hey Dean, I looked for ya on Sunday but didn't see you. I was on the flat rock by the toy with the busted knuckle.

Anyway, I ran Glacier assault and took pictures for 4x4wire.com The writeup should be up shortly. Randy Wheeler ran Avalanche, and Vance ran Siberia.

On Glacier, The trip started off boring but turned into pain in the ass.

Going in, the snow was hard and solid. like driving a slot car. Almost impossible to get out of the ruts. I drove one stretch for about 1/2 mile down a curvy road and didn't even have to steer.

The trip out was a royal pain in the ass. The last of us got off the trail at about 1:15 AM. For a "moderately difficult" run, there were way to many mostly stock rigs, open with 31 " ATs, and when it warmed up, all the stock rigs started to sink in and high center.

I hooked a strap to a nearly stock CJ5 and after I got going I just kept going until I hit hardpack again and sent him on his way. By then it was about 9:00. an EB and a FJ40 each towed a stocker out, but they headed on out after that. I turned around and kept towing whatever was stuck at the head of the line, and the trail crew was winching and shoveling keeping the back of the line moving along slowly.

I think I drug about 8-10 rigs through over a mile uphill. If we had a couple of rigs like Deans, this would have gone alot faster, but I could barely keep forward progress with a sled behind me. Taller and wider tires would have helped alot.

Anyway, I made it back to camp just after 3 AM and the boys were still partying so I had a few beers and when I woke up the world looked like this :D
