Alright, this is my first time needing to swap a driveline, and I have all the retaining springs out, and I don't know how to get the U-joint off of the spider. Please help.

Sadly enough, yes. Like I said this is the first time I've had to remove a driveline. I know there are plenty of you who have changed them, and I really need the help. With all kidding aside can some one lead me in the right direction?

Thanks Pat, but that still doesn't help me get the driveline off. I'm stuck with needing to get the U-joint off of the spider.:(

how does the u-joint touch the spider. do you mean yoke. is it connected to the pinnion side of the axle, or the transfer case side.

sorry that might be confusing. is it still connected to the yoke on the axle, or the t-case yoke. what vehicle is this on also. if its like a wrangler, it has a slip yoke on the t-case side

It has the slip yoke on the T-case side. And it is a 1994 Ford F-150. Thanks for your help ahead of time Pat.

ok, so its still connected to the yoke on the axle right? you took off the u-joint u-bolts. now all you got to do it pry out the ujoint and the thing should come out. unless there is a design i dont know about. i dont know where you got spiders from. the ujoint gets kind of pressed into the yoke and can be tuff to get out. hope this helps.
and when the slip yoke comes out of the t-case. be ready with a rag, because the yoke is the only thing touching the seal in the t-case. oil will come pouring out.

Ok, here goes. There is no U joint U bolts. The Tech manual says there should be, but my truck has none. It is a U joint on the yoke, and a U joint on the driveline. And what I mean by spiders is what highangledriveline.com called their wheel joint. So there are no U joint U bolts, just two U joints with the "spider" or wheel joint in between. I would send a picture but I don't have a red star.

Just from reading your post I am ASSuMEing that you have the flat drive flange like a CV joint. I am also ASSuMEing that you have removed the four bolts that hold it to the pinion side of the flange. So the first thing you should is block the wheels or put the E-brake on so you sont run over yourself... Then get yourself a small sledge hammer (3lb MAX) and rap on the side of the flange it should pop loose.

After rereading your post it appears that you hav removed the C-clips so you need to crawl bacl under there and remove the four bolts that hold the two flanges together but First GO GET YOU A REPAIR MANUAL

joshua hy dester it right. you have a flange that bolts to your yoke. take those 4 bolts off, and pry it off. very simple. dont mess with the u-joint springs

There's other parts to the Pirate web site? Yeah the Granite Guru status means nothing. Just a bunch of padding prior to actually getting a truck that was wheelable. Well off to working on the truck. Thanks guys. And if anyone feels like flamming me for this post BRING IT! :flipoff2:
