I just bought a used Old Man Emu spring set.

It said Old Man Emu right on it, but These don't look like the OME that I know.

The is no military wrap, 8 leaf in the front, 11 leaf in the rear.

I hate to think I got screwed. :mad3:

The guy already misrepresented them, they are not in good of shape as he said. So I am a little pissed about that already. :mad3:

So does anybody know what they should be like for FJ40.

It has OME-13 for the front, and OME-14 for the rears. Printed on the spring.

So if anybody can help me out. Thanks

FJ40 OME's do NOT have the military wrap... take a pic, I gaurantee I can idenitfy them by the spring clamp (should be tall, with rubber liner) as well as by the spring pads that OME uses. OME 13 & 14 are the correct springs for the 40...

What about the 8 and 11 spring packs, is this what they normally have.
Camara isn't handy right now, but the spring clamp is a square U, has a large bolt across the spring, and there is something rubber or plastic between the spring clamp and the spring.

The spring pads, haven't looked real close at, but they were round and yellow.

ARB USA is in Seattle, close to you. Maybe bring them by and have them look at them.

Now, listen to this . He said he had the matching set of OME shocks for these springs.
I said cool, send them along too.

Well I just open up my box that the shocks came in, There were only three OME shocks in there, he also including 2 Rancho 9000 which are not matching to the springs , It had 2 rear shocks "N95" and one other OME "N76" which from what I can find this is not even a cruiser shock, can't find a app for it.

The front of a 40 call for N81 or N41, so I don't know what this N76 is for.

This guy has me rather pissed off right now.

The N76 is for buggies and does not have an application for OEM trucks. I ran them on the rear of my Disco and eventhough they are the longest shocks OME has, they are way too soft and tend to allow for a LOT of bouncing. Not sure how well they will go with leaves, but on coils, they were replaced.

OME 14 is 6 leafs, rear
(OME 141 is 7 leaf rear)

N76 is open 685mm, closed 406mm. ment for the rear of large 4x4 but ment to be run 2 per side for race aplications, rebound.

N95 is rear shocks, light

And the mounting surface on the rear springs is not flat, it is kinda of wavey. One spring showed up loose no center pin holding it together.

So here what I am going to do, right or wrong I don't care, I am going to post his name, address, phone number, email, and I want everybody to call, send him a email, or a letter or stop in his store and let him know what you think about this. This is all I can do.

Well thanks for the offer, but now I can't.

I am tring to buy a house right now, and blew my reserve for the cruiser.
So maybe after I find and buy my house, maybe then.

Well I found the real story about these springs. From somebody esle.
Heard back from the guy that sold them to me.

He is still claming they are in excellent condition. yeah right.
No reasoning why I only received rear shocks.

But now he says he will refund my money if I ship them back.
Let see, it took $103.05 to get them shipped here, and will be another $103 to ship back.

Let see the springs and shocks cost me $425 plus the $103 shipping.
So some of this stuff is still usable, front springs seem ok, shocks seem ok, just not what I asked for.

If I keep it I have some of the items still, but if I send it back I will be out the $206 ( at least) and no product.

I'll try to get him to cover the shipping,(both ways) I don't think he will.

What would you guys do?????
