i'm looking into getting a d90. i know they come in hard top and soft top flavors. can you pull the hard top off. i know they say its 'not removeable' - but it looks like it'd come off pretty easy. do they sell soft tops that would work?

Yes, you can pull the hard top off of a D90 station wagon. It's a bit of a pain in the rear and you'll want a different rear door along with a bunch of hardware, but it can be done. The roll cage is different too, so it is probably more trouble than it's worth to try and convert.

Go ahead and get a soft top if you want one. And if you see one with the fiberglass removable hard top included, grab it! That's a $2500 top!!!

However, the soft top I have from Badger coachworks seals better than the fiberglass removable tops that I've seen.

In 94 there were a few POE(point of entry) D90s that have a removable hardtop, doesn't have the same cage as a softop. Just depends on what you want.
