I've been looking for a while and have only found one place that had a cummins 6AT diesel for sale. I was leaning towards these b/c of their size and also b/c many of them come w/ a chevy bellhousing already attached which would work great w/ a set-up like slades (sm465, Ranger O/D, divorced LT230). The only one I have found is in Long Beach, CA. I would like to find one w/in a days driving distance so I can actually look at it and save on shipping. Any Ideas/leads?
Thanks

Try Peak Sales, they are in Texas but a little more expensive but quality. If you search around there are some options. There is a guy who puts engines out on ebay all the time and he has some killer deals. He is out of florida somewhere and says they are all compression checked and have good warantees and says he would rather sell someone something that worked than not because warantee stuff is expensive so I believe him. He was the best deal going I found at about $1500 an engine... Good luck! Also maybe try the dieselenginetrader.com and if you get deep into some google searches you will find them coming out of the woodwork ;) -- except generally they are not cheap when you find them on the internet :(

Yeah I looked all over the Adelmans site. They have a little bit of everything. great stuff and good prices.
That Peak Sales is here in my area (same area code). I had never heard of them (Peak Sales) and had even scanned through the phone book and called up wrecking yards (big truck yards). When I called some of the yards the conversation went like this, Me "I'm looking for a cummins 6AT... You got any?" Bubba behind the parts counter,"A what?", Me,"A Cummins 6AT" Bubba,"What it come in?" Me,"A bread truck, or something like a Frito-Lay truck." Bubba,"never heard of it."
