Why do rovers have to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO difficult!!!!

Anyways, I bought what I thought was a disco II pitman arm. ( I asked if it would fit my rover box-eliminate the swivel ball pitman arm thing.....)

The response I got was that it fit. THE ARM I GOT DOES NOT!!!! The sector shaft hole is way too big, it is also in a boomerang shape with a hole for a drag-link end . It also steps down twice.

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THIS ARM IS OFF OF????

I don't think I mentioned that it's a '91RR . Would that make any possible difference???

Advice time- :smokin:

What would you do? Try to swap the box for a disco II box ( is it a bolt in affair or major surgery??)

Buy another pitman arm for disco II? ( Someone shipped me the wrong thing-if it doesn't fit than I'll have two door stops.)

Send my RR arm to Sam's offroad and have them weld me up a new arm?? ( Problem being that Sam's reworked arms have no drop!)

Please, any help especially a pic of a disco II arm would be great!!!

I think Way might have the arm I'm looking for!!!!

Thanks- Jamie
Ps. I can't post pics because I'm having tech. difficulties with my camera and computer!!!!! :shaking:

I wonder if it's from a FJ80. But I don't remember the two steps you mentioned.

what are you trying to accomplish again, aside from re-inventing the wheel?

What you want is a Disco 1 pitman arm, not disco II. The disco I arm is a straight arm w/ tapered opening, not the "u" shapped disco II unit, or the Classic/D90 arm with integrated ball joint.
