: Tire height differences

One of the tires on my truck has a leaky sidewall which can't be repaired. I'm getting ready to sell the truck, and need to get a new tire. I would like to just replace the one bad tire, but am hesitant due to getting one that would probably be a different height. Currently, I am running some fairly worn 40" gumbo mudders, which measure about 37.5".
If I got just one tire, I'm afraid it could be anywhere from 1-2" off depending on tread wear and manufacturer differences. I'm thinking I should probably just buy a matched set of four, but don't want to put any more money into this thing than I have to. Any opinions on doing this? In case it makes a difference, it is the passenger front tire that needs replacing.

I would just sell it as is. As a buyer I would rather be able to pick my new tires instead of feeling like I should just get gumbos cause the truck has one new one on it.

if you have to replace the tire, find a cheep used one and just throw that on there, since the other 3 are old anyways, who ever buys it is gonna have to get new ones.

I would definately go with a used one, but am just trying to decide whether I should just buy one used one or a whole set.
Do either of you (or anyone else reading this), have any experience running tubes in the tires? The tire guy said he could put one in, but I don't know how well that would work. This truck has 10" of lift (and its stiffer than hell), so I doubt it would ever be used for real offroading.

Does it have a spare? Throw that on & dont worry about it.

I would just try to track down a cheap set of tires then.. Its hard to come by used 40s that people are willing to separte.
