The check transmission light keeps coming on in my Trooper, usually when I come to a stop or slow down, it then goes limp, and has no power but eventually (very slowly) picks up again. The light will keep flashing till I turn off the engine and turn it back on again. I may be totally off base here but I think it intensifies when there is a temperature change around. Please help.

open the center console.....jump the ecm wires and flash the codes.
match them to the list of codes in the Haynes manual and then tell us what you have.........maybe we can suggest how to fix it.
could be a number of things.

Had the same thing happen to me. It is a temp sensor in the tranny. Do not go to a Aamco transmission service center, it is my experience that they don't have the diagnostic equipment to proporly read isuzu's odd tcm. Try and find the most up to date tranny shop in town if possible. Expect around a 250 dollar bill.
