Number one choice should be Dana/Spicer gears - if you can get them - you will NOT be sorry.

Second in line would be US Gear - they are hands down the best gear manufacturer in the US - and actually make gears for some of the other companies mentioned.

As for the rest - just use one of the two above and you won't have to worry about them, now will you? :p ;) :D

Yukon is junk, at first they may have been made by US Gear but not now. I'm pretty sure Randy has Genuine Gear making them now. I'm just not sure about buying from Randy's anymore. I friend of mine ordered 4.56 Dana/Spicer gears and they tried to give him the Yukon gears in the Dana box!:mad2:

I have never heard of a problem with Randy's until now. I have had nothing but good experience with them, and yukon gears have yet to let me down.
The customer service at Randy's has been top notch, if you had problems, then I guess I have just been really lucky.

Diddo. I run Randy's Yukon gears in my toy, and when I swap to 5.29's, I will run Randy's again. Great customer service.

Not sure about Yukons, but I gotta agree Randy's customer service is the best. A couple years ago when I was setting up an AMC 20 I needed some carrier shims, no luck finding AMC ones around here, called Randy's ready to order some and rather than sell me a shim pack the guy told me to go down to my local GM dealer, he gave me the GM part number for a shim pack that works in an AMC 20. Great service!

Yukons are made by a variety of manufacturers, depending on application.

NONE are made by genuine gear, and ALL are made in the USA.

My 4.88's are made by US GEAR. Sometimes you get DANA, sometimes Precision, it's all about who makes the best gear for the application, and who Randy can get a quantity deal from.

And, as mentioned, the customer service kicks ass. I had my gears from Seattle in less than 48 hours!

From looking at the poll it doesn't seem to matter what which gear manufacturer is used.
Hey Gearman, why do you choose Richmond?
