Adam, learn how to weld and buy a nice machine and thenn start looking at how to fit that shit to your frame. Once you've done that, you've opened up Pandora's box! You'll need all the skill you can muster to make what you'll start dreming about!
ha We'll see you on the cover of Peterson's pretty soon with some 44s and a case of beer. You're really going badass man. Pissed a few off on the RR list. I was rolling on the ground when Peckhamn or Browne told you to cool it on BSROA...too damn funny man.

Hey Mean Green,
Yeah, Timm's work has kind of been semi-hidden, but he's breaking out of that and is offering a lot of different products.
Things that he's offering are: (I hope this isn't too commercial)
parttime 4Wd conversions for LT-230
adapters from series x-fer cases to american truck transmissions
saginaw power steering conversions
motor mounts for small block chevy into series (weld-on) or Defender (bolt-on)
Transfercase mounts for american truck transmissions to series
And basically anything you could think of to make basically any project work. You should see what he's done for me on my two trucks. Nothing short of genius (IMO).

Michael

A SB ford will fit a whole lot better!
Mustang MPI EFI 5.0/AOD/Klune/D300 is the way I would go.

Hey Old Scout,
Not that I want to diss you, but a Ford will not fit better than a Chevy. Timm's done both several times, and likes the way the Chevy fits in. Much less compromises.
Problems with the Ford include: exhaust manifolds, oil pan interference, oil filter location/size, distributor location, and lots of other small details that add up.
I've seen him do a dozen chevy conversions (2 for me) and they're MUCH better (not to mention better motors IMO, and I'm not even a *CHEVY* guy.
Anyway, that's my .02 cents.
Thanks for moderating!

Interesting because the ford is a lot smaller than a Chebby. I hate SBCs with a passion so I won't open that can of worms on your remark that there better. :flipoff2:
What about a Small block Chrysler ( 340/360) with a hybrid 727 to your choice of LR T/Cs???
Moderating is a real treat , but I'm starting to feel a little out of place with all you Defernder guys and so few disco guys :flipoff2:
OH yea welcome newbie:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

HA! Slade I see you have found POR! I was wondering when you or someone from around Quattro would drop in here. I've been waisting time here for a while. You gonna be at the shop tonight? I'm heading over there to rebuild my LT-230.

Hey guys,
I have known about POR for a looooonnng time but didn't know that anyone had started a LR forum. It's good to find a place where irreverance and a few :flipoff2: are allowed now and then.
I probably won't be at the shop tonight. Timm has to rebuild my LT-230 also, maybe you guys can do a side-by-side! (woah, that sounds kinky)
I don't have a shot of the LT-230 spool setup to send you or I would.
TTYL,
Michael
PS Thanks for the warm welcome Old Scout. I thought the Ford small blocks would fit better too because of size, but Timm has the size issue down pat, so that's not really a big deal now. All of the other stuff is the problem, BUT if you REALLY REALLY wanted a Ford small block in a series, Timm's the man (he'd probably do it too).
