: Sundance...you ARE the MAN!!!
wngrog 01-23-2002, 05:47 PM True to his word, Sundance (Andrew Robinson) from OZ sent me two copies of Australian 4WD monthly and a 4x4 trader.
I will be burning up the scanner soon to show you guys some of the Cruisers in these magazines!
I also want to add that Andrew spent $10 for the magazines and $30 for postage
Dude, you are the man. Thank you, thank you! These are the single coolest magazines i have ever read!
Say, do you have access to our Jeep ridden rags (Four Wheeler, 4 Wheel and Sport Utility, etc)??
If not, you will soon have mail :smokin:
Let me know..
rugburn 01-23-2002, 06:01 PM giddy up Nolen!:D :D :smokin:
BJ On Roids 01-23-2002, 06:14 PM every 4WD mag we get is STACKED with cruisers!!
TxCruzr 01-23-2002, 06:22 PM Hey Nolen, I have seen that Austrialia 4wd Monthly mag at Hastings for like $30. I have never bought it but have just sat there and looked through it. There are some awsome yotas in it.

60seriesguy 01-23-2002, 07:40 PM I buy Aussie 4x4 mags whenever I come across them, I like them a LOT. 4WD Monthly, Overlander, Bushrider, 4x4 Australia, I like them all. Can't find them anywhere around here, though, that's reason #487 why I miss living in Phoenix.
If you ever come across RUTAS, a nice, glossy Venezuelan 4x4 magazine, get it. Even if you can't understand Spanish, every issue is about 90% Land Cruisers and expedition coverage. I understand it's sold in Miami, LA, and other big cities with high Hispanic concentrations. Here's a scanned cover of the last issue to give you an idea!
orangefj45 01-23-2002, 08:27 PM we're definetly living on the wrong continent!:(
RHINO 01-23-2002, 08:41 PM hey 60 seriesguy, come back to phx. say where did you find those mags? i will go looking for you(and me) for some.
60seriesguy 01-23-2002, 10:04 PM Trust me, if I could go back to Phoenix, I'd be there in three days, which is what it would take to drive the Cruiser back...I miss the wheeling, the weather, the wheeling, the people, the wheeling, the desert...oh, did I mention the wheeling?:flipoff2:
Seriously, I used to get 4WD Monthly at the Border's bookstore on Bell (west valley), I think it was Bell and 75th? There is a Barnes and Noble right across the street that carried Bushdriver and Overlander sometimes, though you had to be there at the right time to find them...
F*ck, man, now I got all nostalgic, I gotta go take the dog out in the @#$% freezing cold and watch my pristine Cruiser start to rust, when I could be wearing Birkenstocks! I hate my wife's family, they're the only reason why we're here...this one is for them!:flipoff:

Henry,
we moved from San Pedro/Long Beach to come to Indianapolis due to the wife's family.
They have since moved to Detroit and we are here alone!!!
Sucks, but you married a great lady as have I!!!!!!
It is really worth being with my wife despite all the BS in the biblebelt!
I miss fish tacos and Cruising on the strand in Hermosa Beach!

Dude, that really sucks big time. In Laws can be very stressful and if they suck, that really makes it bad. :(
Oh well, land that unbelievable job in Phoenix and Kate will have to go....
60seriesguy 01-24-2002, 10:13 AM Thanks for the support, guys, it gets rough sometimes... After immigrating to the US from Venezuela, I lived 4 years in Maryland and actually liked it. I got used to the wheeling in this part of the country, made friends. When I decided to go to graduate school in AZ, I never thought it would affect me the way it did, the West is an amazing part of the country, especially the Southwestern desert...
Sloan 01-24-2002, 11:43 AM Hey, annual subscriptions to 4x4 Australia are only like $75.:D Don't get hooked on that Aussie 4x porn, it's deadly.:D
RHINO 01-24-2002, 03:32 PM i know what you mean 60 seriesguy, i left AZ for a short while but missed the desert and had to come back, i now know i will probly die here.
coyote 01-24-2002, 07:17 PM If you ever want to come back for a short vacation or some wheeling look me up....many of us Az Wheelers are on the board
60seriesguy 01-24-2002, 10:45 PM I will, coyote, thanks! My (long-term) plan is to go back there, it may take a while but I am *not* dying on the East Coast (no offense)...until then, I can always dream, right?!!!
Sundance 01-25-2002, 04:34 AM Glad you liked them Nolen, good to see they didn't take too long to get there. I'll try and think up other zany competions and maybe some others can win too.
I buy 4wheel and offroad and 4wheeler pretty regularly....
so its probably a waste sending mags to me.
mind you I do collect caps, as in the baseball style... my currently most worn one is a GM Goodwrench one, before that it was a NY Jets cap that I lost in the surf one day. :)
wngrog 01-25-2002, 06:47 AM One Cruise Moab hat coming your way when I go to Moab in May!
rdohn 01-27-2002, 10:38 PM So there is quite the Phx contention on the BBS? Guys...I'm going to OZ in March...and I'm going to be doing some SERIOUS shopping.....I think I may end up bringing back a Crusier or a chick....maby both...unless I get sucked in by the Crusiers and the chicks....that would be just awful....:D
In the mean time...
I'm looking for some places to do some wheeling around here in Phx...I'm in the East Valley and want to find some local trails for my mostly stock rig...(that is changing soon) if you guys can give me some ideas...I would appriciate it. The only stuff I know of is out N of AJ near Canyon Lake....next to the Dutchman State Park....there has to be some better stuff out there?!?!
I did get to mash a stock bumper out there today and nailed my xmember nicely tonight....twas sweeeet!
Thanks all!
