I have a 94 YJ and got TJ axel shafts for the front. Has anyone done this and does anyone have the info for the seals I need and if the axel tube has a place for the seal at the carrier?

You use the same seal as in the driver side. Then you can remove that outer seal and bearing and get a bunch of mud in your axle tube:D

Superior has some seals in nice red-anodized aluminum housings you bang into the axle tube ends, don't have P/N sorry.

BTW, check if you have true neutral in your xfer case if you flat tow. ($300 extra mod to my "cheap" axle upgrade.:( )

i take it you never got my message???

You can get all the instructions from warn for their one piece kit.. or just buy a driverside seal and put it in there

I recently broke my inner right axle shaft and am also considering changing to TJ axles. What do you do about the vacuum disconnect housing and shift fork on the YJ?

I looked around Warn's website for their instructions regarding axles swaps and couldn't find anything. Does anyone have that literature anywhere?

Also, is there a way to coax those damn rotors off? They are rusted in place apparently and don't want to slide off the hub.

Any help is much appreciated!

The TJ one piece axle will slide right through. Just toss the shift fork assembly and cover the disconnect housing with a piece of sheetmetal cut to fit (and gasket of your choice).

Thanks Matt,
I was hoping that'd be the case. What about the vacuum lines and the other electrical connectors that attach to the diff?

Oh yeah, and any suggestions on getting the fuŠking rotors off? ;)

Just zip-tie them up out of the way or cut them off. The vaccum lines might need to be plugged -I'm not sure if there is anything else on the circut. The wires are just for the 4x4 indicator light in the cab, and I've never needed a light to tell when I had her locked in...

For the rotor?? Yea, BFH. I think BigDude has got some guns, maybe he'll swing it for ya...;)

Roger that! I've got just the hammer... Is there a sweet spot that I can give it a little "love tap" and have it come off?

"uhhh huh huh, I said COME... huh huh" :flipoff2:

Probably rusted onto the hub in the center. Whack it () around the outside of the wheel studs.

What is the size of the axle nut on the D30?

A) 34mm
B) 36mm
C) 1 3/8"
D) Other

If other, WTF size is that bastard? I don't have a socket that big and was going to stop off and get one tonight, but don't want to piss in the wind and get the wrong socket.

Thanks,
Ray
