Ok, I've got 2002 TRD Tacoma DBL Cab that I just bought for a daily driver. I want to get rid of the 16" wheels and go to a 15x8 steelie. Is this going to be a problem? Local shop says yes, going to hit the disks? I know with the proper offset It can be done, but what offset? 3.75"?

Thanks
Steve

I have us wheels 84 black steelies on my 01. I believe the BS is 3.75. I don't have ABS though. Might want to ask on TTORA.com for a more positive answer.

15x8 will rub on the front calipers just a little. 2.5 offset might work or you could grind the calipers some.

I have a 99 taco and run 15X8 rock crawler wheels with no problem. I wouldn't go any wider than 15x18 though.

The 99's came with 15" rims and around 01 (maybe 00) there was a design change with the brakes, hence the 16" rims. There is talk all over at TTORA.com on this issue. Many people are running 15" rims on newer trucks. I however do not recall the specifics as I have a 99 and this isn't an issue for me.

I was about to say
I don't think you could even drive in a straight line with those wheels.
