: national rally worth going to?
I was planning on driving down to Moab this winter (during the lovely month of February here in Maine - "I'll slit my wrists now please") but do you think it'd be worth going earlier than planned to hit the rally?
I'm the new owner of ECR4 :flipoff2:
pendy 08-02-2004, 10:02 AM Absolutely not. Stay home newb. We would not enjoy your company at all since all we do is get together and talk Land Rover and wheel. A guy with high profile truck like yourself would surely not be interested in all that.
Besides your pet snowman might melt.
JP
yeah. that sounds like a horrrrible time. I'd better think about going.

Leafsprung 08-03-2004, 08:35 AM Post up what you paid for ECR 4. It will make us all feel better about the money we waste on our trucks.

Yeah, no shit.
:flipoff2:
Hows the top coming Ike? Sorry I missed you while you were in SLC. I was at *work* and didn't hear my phone and check the messages till you were long gone.
:(
Hah. The sticker price. Maybe google has an archive of the page.
I love when people start venturing there.
"So what'dya lay out for that? 15k? It's all beat up."
".....Dude."
Of course I don't need to preach to the choir about its merits.
Jtisdale 08-03-2004, 11:04 AM So, back to the question...are you coming. I'll be there with JT6 and I think Pendy will be making the long haul also with JP7. I'm sure LWG will be there, but I'm not sure if his current version is LWG10 or LWG11 at this point? :p
Tis
Simon 08-03-2004, 11:17 AM (Apu voice on) What is this ECR4 you speak of as if I should be knowing of what it is you are speaking of and why should I be caring about it? I am familiar with the ways of your country but I am finding this most confusing. (Apu voice off)
Simon
sachilles 08-03-2004, 12:01 PM I don't know.
I did look at the ECR website....they are building ECR5 because ECR4 was a little bit wanting when it went out to Moab....that's what the website said.
:p
That being said...I don't think Sachmo1.1 would make it out there safely....definately wouldn't make it back safely.
Jeez, i'm about 100% sure you're pulling my leg, but here:

Simon, how can you not know about that truck? It's got to be the most off-road capable Land-Rover ever made.

You are correct sir! And it's LWG3.3, as in 33" tires. This is the more stronger, yet less capable version of LWG3.5. ;)
HandBuilt 08-04-2004, 08:37 AM And how!
:flipoff2:
Someone got it :grinpimp:
So Noah, you coming to the Rally?
Yeah. I want to come. Need to OK it with the work but I'm perdy sure that will go through.
Last time I was in Moab I was at the wheel of a jeep :shaking:
This'll be nice.
Someone got it :grinpimp:
I'm guessing that "someone" said that in reference to ECR4 once???
pendy 08-04-2004, 01:34 PM At least your skin is thick, You'll go far here.
Lets go scratch up that poseur paint job. Maybe I will let you borrow my wheel covers for traction. In Moab.
JP
I always can use a little more traction in the mud. ahem.
poseur paint job is pretty scratched + dented as it is. I'm sure some slickrock would help it along though.
** I just printed off my registration forms. Anybody else driving down from the northeast?
dmarch 08-04-2004, 02:41 PM Noah, I'm either driving or flying (going as co-pilot). Making that decision in the next week or two after I hear from some people.
If you don't have plans Labor Day, a few of us might head to Paragon (d-90.com).

Yeah, I saw that. I *might* be visiting my friend in the navy stationed in north carolina on labor day. but if not.. I'd want to do that.
dmarch 08-05-2004, 05:55 AM We also will hit MAR in Oct. Even though I swore off that event last year :mad3: . It seems I've already forgotten how much I despised the newb owners taking their stockers on the advanced trails, and our crew spending all day pulling them free. Only getting to run one trail in it's entirety.
But alas, beer and time have gotten me past the bad memories.

You two can race there as well. :D
dmarch 08-05-2004, 07:16 AM Perhaps.
RJ, you going to start showing up to trail events anytime soon? We missed you last weekend.

I live my life 5 long puffs of black smoke at a time. (...you kinda had to watch a stupid movie...)
was looking at some pictures from the last MAR. I liked the one of the two dudes installing an ARB bumper on a range rover with slicks. One of them is wearing some kind of cowboy hat.
..hope their not reading this thread

Yeah Dave looking like Pete the Beagle will be my inaugural event with the RRC...Liam is Due October 1 so even that will be a stretch but it's been too long! The RRC is basically ready to rock, aside from sliders, but PTB isn't the most insane of events LOL!!!
Last summer I had 34 days on the trail...this summer has been mostly riding along...ugggg
dmarch 08-05-2004, 09:15 AM Is Pete the Beagle happening? PKV sounded unsure last I spoke with him. I hope so. Then I'll have to stay here for Labor Day.
