: So what do you guys do for a high pinyon

OK so i'm asking this for a budie with a CJ-5 with the FI Chevy 350 and the 35's BFGS t-18 wide and D-20 x-fercase, spring over and detroit lockers F/R

Anyway he is looking to do an axel up grade and wants to know what is done to acheve a high pinyon diffs, cuz of the drive shaft angels are kida steep. he alrady has a CV in the rear but wants the high pinyon

to acheive hi pinion diffs you buy hi pinion diffs. Its that simple. Can't make a standard diff work upside down and vise versa. If he is set on hi-pinions hope he has some $$$$ Hi-pinion dana 60 are very pricey and a hi-pinion 44 in the rear would be marginal with V-8 and manual tranny.

you can also check out curries hi-pinion 9 inch but still not cheap

Try looking at www.bc4x4.com in the wrenching section. I have written several articles on building high pinion axles that are posted there.

Look for High pinion 60's for sale, and swap on the center section onto an ~80-present ford van rear end. Voila. You have a high pinion 63in wide(MS 2 MS) rear axle.
