I found a block SB 350 that has no carbon under the valve covers and looks to be a really good runner. Just curious about the casting numbers of 14016379? Worth taking for a $100???

That comes up as a 77-79 2 or 4 bolt main 350. If I understand the question, this is a complete 350 builder? If the crank turns, there aren't any inspection holes in the block or pan and no pieces of metal in the oil then it's a good deal for a builder. Pull the pan and see if it's 2 or 4 bolt. Does it have all the brackets and pullies?

Well I grabed it and tore it apart tonight.

It is a 4 bolt main with nearly no wear at all. The heads are small valve heads which I was hoping for bigger valve heads but the block has never been rebuilt and in fact only looks like it had about 10 hours running time. It was a training motor and was never in a vehicle.

There was no carbon anywhere in the motor and the oil filter has provisions for a oil line which will be perfect for my accumilator. Now I just need to figure out what cam and crank I need for my 383 propane motor.
