I ran across a set of TJ half door today in great shape & really cheap. So I bought them. I know the rear latchs are diffrent but besides that will they fit on a YJ? :grinpimp:

I tried to put on TJ doors on my YJ and the TJ doors hit my cage. But i think they would fit if you didnt run a cage. The inside of the door is much thicker and interfered on my jeep.

fits, just modify the striker. What the heck, I run TJ front flip on my YJ, CJ doors and hardtop on the YJ, and a bunch of other crap from other rigs, what the heck do I know.

Back to the question, yes, it will fit nicely :D

Geberhard.

Think a CJ hood/Grill will fit on a TJ?

The body/cowl is wider than a CJ and the grill lower. There was a post some time back that showed how some had done the reverse. TJ on CJ. I am assuming with a bit of massaging it can be accomplished. Fenders wont be the same but they get dented anyways.

Indy,

I think you can pretty much fit anything on anything after seeing a VW bug with a freaking V8 :D I did the setup backwards, TJ grill and hood on the YJ, which is pretty much the same aas the TJ. A bit of gap on some areas, but not much. You can see the write-up and pictures here:

I mocked the TJ hood on top of the YJ grill to check spacing here:

The CJ grill and hood are narrower than the TJ's, but it can be done, just mod the TJ fender lips that stick up on the top of the fender and would go under the hood. Then "adjust" read bend a bit the fenders inwards around the CJ grill. I have not seen something like that yet, but am sure it could be done pretty easy. It would be kinda interesting seeing a TJ with CJ front clip. If you tubed out your fenders, the aproach is even easier. The cowl lip will also not align perfectly, but not that hard to adjust.

Yea, I was thinking CJ Hood, CJ grill, tube fenders, viola. Already got the hood and grill, now just gotta get the TJ. :flipoff2:

Ya they fit. They are a little tight. I have the right side on along with the stricker. I went out to one of the Jeep wrecking yards & got all the hard ware I needed to Fab them on. Hell if I can put my 94 YJ on a 02 TJ chassis I can fab the door strikers. Thanks for all your guys input. I need to get out to the shop so I can get these doors on. :flipoff2: :D :flipoff2:

If you can put a TJ Hood/Grill on a YJ, I can't see why a CJ hood grill on a TJ would be THAT difficult. The YJ tub and CJ tub share the same dimensions.

You can puta bowling ball inside ofits bag but not the bowling ball the other way around :) The TJ stuff will fit on the YJ\CJ ok. The TJ fenders and cowl are way diferent, and you will get some bigger gaps. It will fit, but not a straight bolt on type of fit :)

Just find a tj killed in the ass and rob the top part of the cowl and replace the yj or cj cowl with it. You will have to use a tj windsheild frame and dash but every thing up front would allign right up. But I cant see doing this much work unless you would be doing it on a scrambler tub. Tj tubs are getting just as plentiful and cheap as the yjs now so. :flipoff2:

Yeah the only reason i would do it is to put a tj clip on a scrambler tub. Too much work just to have another tj. Then you would do something diemler chrysler should have done instead of the unlimmited. Made a real scrambler :flipoff2:

Hmm that would not be a bad idea, like the Brute kind of style :) hmm not a bad idea at all :) Build a TJ kinda thing on top of the CJ8 frame and stuff....

I've tried running Tj doors on a CJ with no luck. I always thought YJ and CJ tubs were the same. ?????

Alright guys. I have both TJ doors on & the TJ strikers & the striker brakets on.The doors open & close just fine. I stripped the doors before I put them on & after I put the door back together. The doors wont close because the rubbers hit the door jam. The YJ tub is a little different shape in the door jam then the TY is. So any idea what I can do about the door rubber. And no I don't want to leave them off. I tried to put my YJ rubbers on but the are different. What to do. :jeep:  :jester:
