I just got my reconditioned DeWalt Multi-cutter chop saw in the mail from Harbor Freight yesterday ($199+tax+$5 handling+free shipping) :grinpimp: went out to give it a try, and NO GO.

I tried once, got noise and sparks, but no cutting. Double checked everything, tried again, and same thing. I looked at the blade and most of the carbide teeth were all chipped up.

Turns out the blade was spinning the wrong direction, shooting the sparks towards me instead of away from me. Pretty much ruined the $$$ blade. :(

Anyway, I took it to the DeWalt repair place near my work and they're gonna drop ship me a new one. No questions, no hassles, didn't even look in the box. So that's good, except now I have to wait again.

Just thought I'd give a heads-up just so you could save yourself some hassle if you had the same problem. That way, if you didn't kill the blade, you could probably pretty easily just have some wires swapped around and be ready to go...

And BTW, I think the sticker on it said it was inspected by "Tanya," so watch out for her! :p

How did you get free shipping? I just got mine on monday and I had to pay 35.00 for shipping! I was going to use mine for the first time on saturday. I will go look at the blade now.

Hmm... I dunno. Maybe because I clicked on "order from print catalog" or whatever? I also replaced the "0vga" w/ a "1vga" in the part # to get the lower price. :grinpimp:

BTW, its not that the blade was in backwards (it was installed correctly), its that the blade was spinning the wrong direction!

So check which way the motor spins it before doing any cutting!
