The JD Squared Model 3 bender can easily handle 2" x.120 chromolly or 1-3/4" x .134 mild steel. JD Squared follow bar inserts are made of a cast bearing grade alloy. The standard cast steel works great for almost all materials. Sometime heavy Aluminum usage requires using a delrin (hard plastic) insert to avoid galling. Inserts are priced the same no matter what the size or shape of the insert. If you order online you have to specify what OD (or ID), shape, and CLR.

What psi pump is needed for the model 3 bender? can a hand/ foot pump work?

The machines are rated for 4000psi, It won't work without some type of powered pump. (Consider that the Air/Hyd setups take around 45 seconds for one stroke of the cylinder!)

How about pt#10-1012 Model 3 Hydraulic Kit and an Enerpac RC1014 10 ton 14" ram?

Adapter Kits are $85, Rams run $388. JD2 will ship the Enerpac or equivalent SPX PowerTeam (also USA Made) depending on Enerpac supply.

What is the difference between the JD2 bender and the model 3 bender from M-Tech Supply?

Kevin, it may be a while until I can get around to that ( I am buried from a trade show I just got back from)...They look identical to the machine ones you have, except have a silvery, almost aluminum-like, look to them. When they went to cast inserts, they also thickened the followbar to support the whole insert. Cast will tend to crack in the middle without support, so if you want to switch, it is highly recommended to buy a new followbar as well. Total cost is $70.

2" Dies are only 180 degrees. I stock them, or can also ship them direct from the factory in FL which is cheaper on shipping, but could take an extra week or so to get out the door.

Brian, replacement inserts are $35 a set. Keep in mind, if you don't have the new style cast inserts (shiny ones), you will need the complete follow bar which is thicker to support the cast inserts better. Cost for entire follow bar with inserts is $70. Shipping is $11.25.

Thanks for the post - total with shipping would run $2899.12. Approximate lead time of 2 weeks. This is configured with the Air/Hydraulic pump setup. If you want electric/hyd then add $800.

However, if you have a frame rack or something similar in your shop as we do here (we have a collision repair business as well), you may already have a hydraulic pump you could use and save $400!

$779.24 shipped. The Mod 3 falls somewhere between the 105 and 105 HD as far as capacity. The model 3 will do .134 wall 2" mild steel, and Pro-Tools will recommend the 105HD for that. We should be slightly less money for a comparable package. All of our dies are capable of 180 deg bends and the bender ships standard with a degree ring!
