Yeah I was rather amazed myself when I picked mine up with the drums. I was expecting them to be heavier.

I just picked up a set of 406 axles with disk brakes and stone guards. No torque tubes. The shipping weight with two pallets was only795 pounds. I asked the shipping company if they really weighed them and they said yes. If these numbers are right it's a strong argument for disk brakes. Compare my 800 pounds to ZAGs 1100.

74inches. I have another set with disks that is also 74 inches but was 1200 lbs with the torque tubes and propeler shafts.

mine are about 65" wide and that weight was with no pinions or torque tubes as well as not brakes.

Interesting, either you got hosed by your shipping co (you pay more if it weighs more) or my shipping company got hosed.
