I would have to say your problem is that your diff has a big red X for gears. :flipoff2:

it looks as though your backlash isnt set to spec, I can tell from teh way the little red X engages the other little red X in your pictures.

oh yeah,

its VERY clear in that second set of pics, the top red X isnt meshing properly with the bottom red X, its almost as if they are a half inch apart?

you have to cut and paste the link to get it to work. You can't tell anything from those pics, other than they ave gear oil on them. Get some marking compound and run a pattern then post a pic of that.

I think the red X pics are much clearer than your web page pics. Either I need glasses, or you need to back up from the differential a little so that the camera can focus.

Have you tried using brake cleaner to clean some of the oil out?

Since your page listed a posi trac I would say make sure youre running gear oil additive 1st then...who knows

Well to me that looks like an Open Rear End (no Posi). Go here http://www.ring-pinion.com/t-diagnosing.html to start diagnosing your problem.

jeepdriver02---that looks like a clutch type posi so the jerking could mean you need posi additive in there....but as far as the noise it could be gear patterns and such...so tell us what happened? What was the installation like?
